Family Values
At Kingsway, we recognize that every family has their own unique values,
circumstances and goals. We work closely with each family to develop an individual
plan that respects those values and goals. EIP services are provided in the child’s home
or in the community, including childcare and school settings.
In addition to regular EIP sessions, families are invited to participate in Kingsway
“Meet and Play” groups where families can enjoy additional parent support and
training on a variety of topics. During the sessions, children participate in planned
activities with experienced, skilled staff that build play, communication and social
skills, tolerance to settings outside their home environment and prepare them for
transitions.
EIP Funding
Funding for the program comes from the NJ Department of Health and Senior
Services, NJ Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities,
the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and private donations.
Families may have a cost share for some Early Intervention services, based on a
confidential review of their family size and income. These sliding scale fees are
determined and processed by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services
through the county Special Health Services Unit (SCHS).
Obtaining Early Intervention Services
If you are concerned about a child’s development, contact Special Child Health
Services (SCHS) in your county’s Health Department Case Management Unit.
A free evaluation can be arranged to determine eligibility for New Jersey Early
Intervention Services. Eligible children who live in our service area in
Camden County will be referred to Kingsway. An IFSP will be developed
with the family, the evaluation team, SCHS and a staff member from Kingsway’s
Early Intervention Program. For additional information on New Jersey's Early
Intervention System, visit www.njeis.org. Click on Southern Region, then Point of Entry/Counties.
Services are planned to fit into your family’s routines and to facilitate development of
peer relationships and inclusion of the child and family into their community.
Kingsway complies with Part C of the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Education
Act (IDEA) and the NJ Early Intervention System NJEIS Policies, Procedures,
Guidelines and Procedural Safeguards.
