Located at our Moorestown campus, the Kingsway Secondary School program provides an
educational and therapeutic program for students ages 14 to 21 with disabilities. In this
newly renovated facility, students are provided with the academic requirements, necessary
therapies, life skills curriculum and career sampling activities that help prepare them for life
after graduation.
Kingsway’s curriculum complies with
the New Jersey Core Curriculum
Content Standards and the New Jersey
High School Graduation Requirements.
The goal of our program is to successfully
prepare each student for life after
graduation. Success is achieved through
a multidisciplinary team approach that
includes all required therapies integrated
with academics and career assessment
and exploration. In addition, the
important skills of communication and
socialization are highlighted throughout
the program during school hours and
carry over into after-school activities.
Students in Kingsway’s Secondary Program participate in a variety of programs and activities
designed to prepare them for life after school:
Kingsway secondary students are provided with required therapies that are integrated into their program. In
addition to speech-language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy and nursing services, some students
are provided with therapeutic counseling services. Valuable group counseling sessions help students develop
social skills as well as adapt to workplace situations.
Students at Kingsway are encouraged to participate in a number of meaningful and fun activities
outside the classroom. Our School Store provides students with the opportunity to practice
job skills as they purchase a variety of products and snacks. Our on-site Bike Shop
teaches students the regiments of running a successful business, while providing safe, hands-on
tool instruction. Through electives such as the School Chorus, Student Government, Drama
Club, Sign Language, Teen Talk, Art Appreciation, Pottery and Survivor’s Club,
students are able to learn socialization and life skills while enjoying new activities.
Kingsway is proud to provide an extended school year for qualifying students in both our elementary and secondary
schools. This program allows students to attend Kingsway for 30 additional school days during the summer,
where they receive therapies and instruction to provide a continuous sequence of learning.
